Your life without a computer: what does it look like?
How would my life be without a computer? That also means without a cellphone, streaming platforms, and perplexed hardware and software engagements in general(?). For me, it’s an easy question to answer. I would be more bored, truly connected to other people and to nature; and probably time (itself) would have felt “more”. At this stage we’re on with technology, it feels that we “accomplish” more things in less time, but the actual achievement feels a bit less “valuable”. Or we feel that we are “busy” for the sake of being busy.
But do we actually produce? And to what extent? Is our society becoming more technocratic? Are we clinging towards a less sentimental and nature deprived future? If we were to “lose” our advanced “gadgets” we wouldn’t be asking such questions. life would be simpler. Human interaction would be simpler. We would lose lots of the perks of technology (such as digital “connectivity”, speed of information and general automation) but we would probably rediscover the “easy” living..
So I’m imagining myself writing on a piece of paper, meeting with someone on a date feeling the excitement that lies in the fact that he may or -may not-make it to come! I would be looking up in books and libraries for information! The pace of my life would be slower and I would have time to digest every minute experiencing life as a human..I would exhaust my own intelligence to solve daily problems instead of relying upon an “artificial one” to do the trick for me. I wouldn’t be “ashamed” of my flaws and mistakes..Life would seem 100% genuine.. I guess..
